Police are continuing to appeal for information following a robbery on Friday morning in Ilkley.

The incident occurred just before 11am in Brook Street, when two suspects wearing balaclavas smashed the window of a jewellers with a lump hammer before making off with a number of rings from the display.

The suspects made off on foot down Brook Street.

A vehicle parked up near to the Playhouse is also believed to be connected. It is described as being a small, black, older vehicle with a yellow licence plate to the front.

Detective Constable Tom Levitt, of Bradford CID, said; "I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident, and may have seen or heard anything or anyone acting suspiciously, or who may have seen the incident itself or suspects fleeing the scene, to come forward to the police.

"I would also appeal to anyone who may have seen, or be able to offer further information about, the black vehicle that was seen parked up near to the Playhouse around the time of the robbery to speak to police. It is believed a number of people may have captured some the incident on their mobile and I would also ask they bring that forward. Enquiries are ongoing."
