YOUNGSTERS are enjoying an educational Aladdin's cave after being given a writing and literacy shed.

Four and five-year-old reception pupils at Featherbank School in Horsforth are enjoying learning with the help of the new equipment sponsored by the local branch of estate agent Manning Stainton.

Reception teacher, Gail Gunn, said: "The children just love to visit the wooden shed, which is like an Aladdin’s cave of reading and writing equipment.

"They certainly need no second invitation to pick out things to take away and play with.

"We have had this on our wish-list for a while now and, thanks to the generous donation made by Manning Stainton, it has become a reality. We really are extremely grateful."

The estate agent has also bought some outdoor clothing for the children to wear on wet days, meaning rain very rarely stops play at Featherbank.

Sarah Joseph, manager of the firm’s Horsforth branch, said: "It gives us a real sense of pride to be able to support the school in this way.

"The fact the writing shed encourages children to learn and have fun at the same time makes it extra special, and we are thrilled to have been able to help."
