THE ORGANISER of Ilkley supermarket food bank collections – who also welcomed dozens of schoolchildren into the store to learn more about where their food comes from – is leaving to work in another division of the company.

Katie Houseman, who has worked at the Ilkley store, in Springs Lane, for four years, was responsible for organising food bank collections at the supermarket, as well as running the popular Farm to Fork sessions.

Pre-school and primary school children learned about healthy eating on their visits to the Ilkley store. They had the chance to taste and experience different types of food, learned where fruit and vegetables come from, and watched fish being filleted in the store.

Katie is moving on to work in the Tesco Express side of the business alongside the area manager for the Leeds and Harrogate area.
