TELEVISION'S 'The Yorkshire Vet' Julian Norton is to launch his book at The Devonshire Arms Hotel in Bolton Abbey.

The unveiling of Horses, Heifers and Hairy Pigs: The Life of a Yorkshire Vet, will take place at a fundraising lunch in aid of The Yorkshire Air Ambulance on September 19.

In addition to lunch, guests will be treated to anecdotes of Julian's life at the Skeldale Veterinary Practice in Thirsk – the original inspiration of James Herriot's All Creatures Great AQnd Small.

His book follows the success of the television series and further explores his experiences of treating all sorts of animals.

Signed copies of the book, due to be released on September 22 and published by Michael O’Mara books, priced £22.99, will be available at the event.

Tickets, priced £25 each, will include a two-course meal with a glass of wine or a soft drink, as well as tea or coffee to follow. It will start at 12.30pm on September 19 and booking is essential.
