A NEW Co-op store has opened in Bramhope today.

The brand new, purpose-built, 3,000 sq ft convenience store has created 20 local jobs and includes an in-store bakery, Costa Coffee Express machine and customer car parking.

The store opens between 6am to 10pm daily, with a focus on fresh, healthy produce; meal ideas; everyday essentials; food-to-go; Fairtrade products, flowers, chilled beers and award-winning wines; ready meals, pizzas and, free-from, vegan and plant-based products.

Co-op is also committed to supporting British farmers, growers and suppliers, with all of its fresh and frozen meat and poultry, including in its ready meals, pies and sandwiches, 100% British.

The online home delivery of groceries is also available through Deliveroo for added ease and convenience – products are picked fresh in the local store then delivered quickly and conveniently locally.

A soft plastic recycle unit is available in store to enable the community to recycle ‘soft plastics’ including: crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals and yoghurt pots, biscuit wrappers and, pet food pouches - ensuring all Co-op’s own food packaging is recyclable either through local authority kerbside collections, or the in-store recycling unit.

The store also has a focus on delivering value, with member price savings across a wide range of everyday essentials so that the people who own our business, our member-owners, benefit every time they shop.”

There will also be giveaways, samples, promotions and activities in and around the store between 11am-4pm on Saturday, May 11, including:

Cheese and Wine - samples from Co-op’s Irresistible range with a non-alcoholic option

Penalty Shootout - guests will take turns to shoot at the penalty shootout goal, trying to score through holes in the banner. Scorers will receive a tasty treat or Co-op water bottle.

Kids Craft Tent – Co-op’s event team will host a Kids craft corner instore away from live music, youngsters will be invited to make their own ‘Grow Your Own pot’ using kits provided and have a go at colouring a bespoke Bramhope activity sheet.

Ice Cream Bike Activity - a free Fairtrade ice cream served from the bike.
