Otley Tavern 3 Yeadon Athletic 2

TOM Fleming marked his return to second hat-trick of the season had Otley Tavern toasting their first Wharfedale Triangle Division One win.

Fleming, who was making his return to the side, was deployed in a striking role and the results were just what Tavern wanted.

The match was hard fought and Tavern received a wake-up call when they found themselves a goal down in the first ten minutes.

Tavern's first chance came when new signing Nic Hewitt put Fleming through with only the keeper to beat, but he was unable to direct the ball past him.

It wasn’t long before Tavern was on level terms when the Yeadon centre back was dispossessed by Fleming on halfway and he raced away, rounded the keeper and scored.

Tavern's defence contained any threat from Yeadon and Fleming put Tavern ahead just before the break after combining well with Johnny Weedon.

Tavern continued the second half how they finished the first, but knew that they needed another goal to ease the pressure and calm the nerves of recent games.

It came when Fleming netted from the edge of the box with a well-directed shot.

Yeadon started to put a little more pressure and Tavern were reduced to ten men when Max Drake picked up his second booking.

Yeadon battled back with a goal with six minutes from time but Tavern held on for the three points.
