Pool 2 Wyke Wanderers 0
AFTER passing a 10am inspection the pitch was battered by further showers of sleet, snow and hail making the surface very heavy.
It was a credit to the two teams that they produced an entertaining West Yorkshire League Premier Division match.
Pool took a deserved lead midway through the first half when Steve Preston pushed the ball home from close range following a goalmouth scramble.
They extended that advantage at the start to the second half when Max Drake fired a long-range effort in off the underside of the crossbar.
As conditions worsened, and legs tired, the match became more laboured. Wyke had chances as Pool cleared a handful of scrambles, but the home team held on for a deserved three points.
