GUISELEY play their final pre-season friendly tomorrow at Curzon Ashton’s Richmond Street Ground.

The Nash are a division below Guiseley and are rivals of Bradford Park Avenue and FC Halifax Town in Vanarama National League North.

Curzon have only been beaten once in their warm-up games, and that was by Rochdale, the Sky Bet League One outfit winning 3-1 at Richmond Street.

Lions boss Mark Bower has been pleased with the efforts of his squad over what has been a very long and busy pre-season.

Tomorrow’s game will be Guiseley’s ninth friendly. They have enjoyed some good results and some excellent work- outs but they go into the Curzon game on the back of an uninspiring goalless draw at Knaresborough Town.

With the new season just a week away, many of the local semi-pro sides are scaling down their pre-season exertions. After tomorrow, Bower’s concentration will be on the opening Vanarama National League fixture a week tomorrow at Eastleigh.

Silsden also play their last warm-up game tomorrow when they travel to former Bradford Park Avenue skipper and Bantams graduate Wayne Benn’s Hemsworth Miners' Welfare.

The Cobbydalers played last Friday, Tuesday and last night in what has been an intense end to their pre-season campaign.

Thackley will be hoping to do better than their higher-ranking neighbours at Knaresborough.

The North Yorkshire outfit really raised their game against the Lions and came closest to breaking the deadlock.

The Dennyboys will look to take advantage of any tiredness in the home side after their efforts on Tuesday.

Liversedge have a home game against Evo-Stik Division One North Clitheroe.

The Lancastrians put six past Silsden at the Angel Telecom Stadium in an earlier friendly.

Brighouse Town host football pyramid newcomers Campion, who also found their scoring boots against the Cobbydalers.

James Bicknell’s side beat Silsden 4-1 in midweek, while Town’s last run-out was a 1-1 draw at AFC Emley last Monday.

James Gill’s Silsden, Thackley, Liversedge and Albion Sports – Kulwinder Sandhu’s men are not in action this weekend – all have a big date looming a week tomorrow as their seasons start with ties in the FA Cup extra preliminary round.

Albion’s scheduled final friendly has been cancelled.

It was due to be at Brighouse Town on Monday but the game was called off by the clubs following midweek discussions.

Bradford Park Avenue have chosen not to have a game on their last free Saturday before the National North campaign kicks off.

Avenue’s league season begins with a trip to old adversaries Gainsborough Trinity.
